SYNOPSIS
State of Happiness (Lykkeland) tells the story of four young people and the unprecedented opportunities they face with the rise of the Norwegian oil industry. Everything is in flux, everything is new and wonderful, but at the same time unknown and frightening. How do they deal with it?
The 3rd season of this Norwegian-Belgian series makes another leap in time, to 1987. While the rest of the world falls into recession, oil keeps the Norwegian economy straight. Yet it is causing political and economic turmoil. Has the country become too dependent on the oil industry? And how do we deal with these massive changes for people and the environment?
